This volume is based on a conference held at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) on 18 and 19 July 2022. The conference was part of a series of meetings and discussions organised by members of the research group “Literature and the Rule of Law”, a collaboration between the University of Cambridge and LMU Munich (2020–2024). This collaboration proved to be an important forerunner to the CAPONEU project.
The research group examined literature and engaged with literary texts as a site where emancipatory claims, made by various networks of agency, are enacted and negotiated.
