Liam Connell
Liam Connell, PhD, works in the area of the economic humanities with a particular focus on the discourses of globalization and labour within contemporary fiction. His research has explored how conflicting ideas of state and of liberalized trade are represented in the fictions of migration, and how contemporary fiction about work, especially office work, explore changing patterns of work in the contemporary global economy.
He is part of the University of Brighton team exploring the idea of the political in support of CAPONEU. He is preparing a monograph on the contemporary political novel, examining the function of speech acts as a mode of political action.
